• an injured person has been located during a QFES emergency incident
• an injured person, not connected with an emergency incident, has been located
• responding to an emergency incident where Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) are unable to attend as the first response.

What actions need to be taken upon identification of a person who needs medical assistance with QAS not on site?

Answer 2

Start first aid
- Request QAS and provide;
* The number of patients involved
* Is the patient conscious / breathing
* Is the patient male or female
* What is the approximate age of the patient
* A brief description of the illness/injury.

What actions need to be taken when an injured person is identified off incident?

Provide first aid, call 000, notify firecom

What happens if QAS cannot respond to an incident?

Answer 4

QFES will respond if requested bt QAS when there are no QAS resources available. QFES will provide first aid as per the MOU Provision of Mutual Aid Emergency Response Assistance QAS & QFES
