Bacterial skin infection that’s highly contagious occurs mainly around the mouth, nose, and skin fold such as the axillae; more common in children then adults.
Impetigo
Deeply infected hair follicles, that spread surround areas; also called furuncles. A collection of theses coalesce to form a larger mass draining through several opening called a carbuncle
Boils
Fungal infection of the foot most often the sole and between the toes
Athletes Foot
Fungal infection of the skin; transmitted through contact with infected skin or infected domestic animals
Ringworm
Recurrent viral infection that affects the skin and mucous membranes; oral herpes simplex
Cold sores
Acute, localized viral infection of the skin; essentially a reactivation of the chickenpox virus
Shingles
Rough, raised, oval-shaped mass of skin; contagious; located on hands
Warts
Most common inflammatory skin condition; not contagious
Eczema
Chronic inflammatory skin condition in which the proliferation rate of epidermal cells is greatly accelerated; skins cells build up thick patches
Psoriasis
Localized injury to the skin and underlying tissues, usually over a bony prominence from sustained pressure
Decubitus ulcers
Neurologic disorder in which the affected person displays behaviors associated with inattentiveness, hyperactivity, impulsivity, or a combination of these
ADHD
Condition present in early childhood characterized by difficulty communicating and forming relationships
Autism spectrum disorder
Characterized by explosive episodes of uncontrolled and excessive electrical activity in the brain, results in sudden change in behavior and level of consciousness
Seizure Disorders
Direct injury to the spinal cord or indirectly from damage to surrounding bones, tissues, or blood vessels
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
Progressive neurodegenerative disease that produce a typical profile of mental deterioration
