what is the presentation of a fibroadenoma?
> freely mobile
well circumcised
not painful
what is the presentation of a tubular adenoma?
discrete freely movable mass
what is the presentation of lactating adenoma?
enlarged mass in lactation and pregnancy
what is intraduct papilloma?
epithelial hyperplasia
how does an intraduct papilloma present?
nipple discharge in middle aged women
what is the pathology of fat necrosis?
> fibrosis
calcification
liquid filled cysts
ltistiocytes (plus foamy cytoplasm)
how does fat necrosis present?
> egg shell on mammography
antecedent trauma
prior surgical intervention
what is the pathology of phyllodes tumour?
> cysts on cut surface > fleshy leaf like pattern > circumcised > connective tissue and epithelial elements > haematogenous metastasis
what is pagets disease a result of?
intraepithelial spread of intraductal carcinoma
how does pagets disease present?
> pain > itching > scaling > redness > ulceration > crusting > serous or bloody discharge
what is gynecomastia in men associated with?
> cirrhosis of the liver > hyperthyroidism > chronic renal failure > chronic pulmonary disease > hypogonadism > hormone use
