What is thrombosis?
A
Local coagulation or clotting of the blood in a part of the circulatory system

What is the difference between thrombosis and a clot?
A
A clot is coagulated blood outside of the vascular system (or after death)

Why don’t thrombus’s form all the time?
A
Flow is usually laminar (central) and endothelial cells are not sticky when healthy
