-availability of disabled parking spaces
describe the difference between the medical and social models of disability
medical - describes disability as a feature of the person caused by disease, trauma etc and aims to correct the problem
social- views disability as a result of societal barriers and not just medical, focuses on how society can change to be more inclusive
eg Example: A person who uses a wheelchair is disabled not because they cannot walk, but because buildings lack ramps and elevators, preventing accessibility.
what are the WHO recommendations for SCI?
-improve health sector response to SCI
-empower people with SCI
-ensure buildings transport and information are accessible
-support employment and self employment
-promote appropriate research and data collection
