  3. One of the first and largest built
  4. Dedicated to the goddess Athena

  6. Doric order with lines that are straight and geometric.

A

Tilt inwards and are not uniformly spaced, they stand closer to each other at the corners to overcome the illusion of concavity.

A
  1. This temple was dedicated to all the gods.
  2. Romans believed in many gods.
  3. Circular temple.
  4. Dedicated to the gods of the 7 planets.
  5. Central dome is open to the sky.
  6. Oculus: central eye is the only source of light and symbolises the sun.
  7. Outside of dome was covered in golden tiles.
  8. Priest would sacrifice a beast in the temple.
  9. Floor slopes gradually towards the centre.
  10. Walls are 7m thick.
