Transpiration

A

–How plants get water moving through their xylem
–Evaporation from the leaves, which creates suction. This will bring new water through the plant
–This help gain water
–If they drink to hard they can collapse its xylem witch the tree dies

Translocation

A

–Move food through the phloem
–starts at the source where sugar comes from
–Has soft cell wall tubes - tube cells
–Sink= where the sugar is going through the tube cell
–if you keep cramping sugar through the tube cell then and pulled at the end then the sugar will tend to flow through the tube

Roots

A

–Help to get water/ help to absorb water
–Roots are stringy for surface area
–Help to hold the plant in the ground
–Some plants roots have another function - of food storage

Leaves

A

–the main purpose is photosynthesis
–Some leaves have other functions
–Onions have a stem and roots but the layers of the onion (the pare you eat) are leaves - and onions are a foods supplies for others
–Rock plant - have very thick leaves because to hold water
–Cactus leaves- are the pointy things that hurt - they reflect light and protect ( this plant can get sunburn)
