Necrotic
Affected with, characterized by or producing death of a localized area of living tissue

Bony projection on the back of each vertebra that extends from the spinal column
Rales
Also known as cackles. Abnormal long sounds that can be heard through a stethoscope
Rhonchi
Abnormal breath sounds that are low, pitched loud and continuous caused by constricted larger airways, including the tracheobronchial passages
Adventitious
Not inherent, but occurs accidentally or spontaneously
Wheeze
High-pitched whistling sound that it can occur during breathing when the airways in the lungs become narrowed or blocked
Stridor
Abnormal high-pitched respiratory sound produced by irregular airflow in a narrowed airway
Thyroid
Gland located beneath the larynx that makes thyroid hormone and calcitonin, also helps regulate growth and metabolism
Bruit
Abnormal sound of blood flowing through and narrowed portion of an artery. It means that the blood flow may be partially blocked.

Tactile fremitus
Feeling vibrations transmitted through the chest wall when a patient speaks or breathes
Crepitus
A popping crackling, crunching or grinding sound that occurs when a joint is moved
Trismus
Restriction of the range of motion of the jaw
Tachycardia
A resting heart rate that is abnormally fast, typically over 100 bpm
