In an emergency what should you do when leaving a train?
-only leave the train if you are authorised to or in an emergency
-you must have 3 points of contact (2 hands and 1 leg)
Do you know
-which lines are open to traffic
-where any areas of limited clearance/prohibited areas are
-if your train is protecting you (is it static)
-can you identify a safe route for the full distance
Do not leave your train unless you are authorised. If in doubt, call the signaller and get signal protection
What does COSS stand for and how do you identify them??
•COSS - Controller of site safety
•they will be wearing a blue band round there arm with COSS on it
How to keep to the safe system of work?
-you just be at least 20m away from everyone when working on or near the line to avoid distraction
-you must never distract a lookout
