61.35 Medical requirements for ppl and cpl.

A

Person who holds pilot license must not exercise privileges of license unless -

PPL - has class 2 or DL9 that’s applicable for a class 2,3,4,5 with passenger endorsement which was issued within the previous 5 years or if the person is 40 years or older issued within previous 2 years.

CPL - class 1

Is complying with all the conditions, restrictions and endorsements on medical certificate.

Changes in medical condition of PPL holder

A

Holder of PPL is aware or has reasonable grounds to suspect changes in medical condition or existence of any condition that will interfere with safe exercise of privileges of license. Cannot exercise the license unless medical practitioner confirms they are fit to hold a medical.

Recent flight experience day and night

A

Must not act as PIC of an air operation or carry pax by day unless preceding 90 days has:

Carried out (as pic or in approved synthetic flight trainer of same type) not less than 3 T/O and LDG during day or
Demonstrated to A or B flight instructor competence in take off or landing manoeuvres during the day
Gotten a license in aircraft of same type.

Night is first two but at night.

BFR requirements (3) and 60 day rule

A

Must be done by appropriately qualified flight instructor ( AC 61-1 doesn’t define what is considered appropriate but recommended to hold a A, B or D Instructor rating)

Consist of flight instruction to review the manoeuvres and procedures applicable to the pilot license privileges the holder wishes to exercise

is in accordance with the standards acceptable to the director.

Completed BFR within 60 days before date is deemed to have completed the BFR on required date.

A

Enter in logbook after review that is has been satisfactorily completed and including the following information:

pilot license type to which flight review relates
The date when flight review was done
Date on which it ceases to be effective
Name, instructor category, CAA client number of instructor conducting BFR.

Complete appropriate CAA BFR form and submit to director.

Aircraft similar type, type rating.

A

appropriately qualified flight instructor may issue an aircraft type rating for an aircraft type that is so similar to an existing aircraft type rating held by the pilot if the instructor is satisfied that no further conversion flight instruction or type competency demonstration is necessary.

Entry is made into the logbook. And submits a logbook entry to director.

A

  1. the person has sufficient ability in reading, speaking,

  2. the person has received dual instruction within the last 5 hours of
    flight experience unless otherwise authorised by the holder of a
    current Category A or B flight instructor rating
  3. the person has had piloting experience in appropriate aircraft
    within the immediately preceding 30 days
  4. The flight instructor who authorises the solo flight must monitor the actions of the pilot during the solo flight.
  5. In the case of a first solo flight by day, the certification in the
    person’s pilot’s logbook required under paragraph may be made after
    the completion of the first solo flight if the flight instructor is satisfied that
    all the requirements for the lesson are met.

    - limitations of PPL, technical and operation knowledge relevant to aircraft type,
    - competence to operate aircraft within its performance capabilities and limitations in accordance with the AFM in all normal, abnormal and emergency procedures.
    - competence in RTF procedures and phrases
    - control of the aircraft at all times in a manner that ensures
    the successful outcome of a procedure or manoeuvre is
    never in doubt
  6. have night flight experience acceptable to director.

PPL privileges

A

act as PIC of aircraft for which the pilot license is granted and for which the pilot holds a type rating
Carry pax.
act as co pilot if they have a type rating and requires a co pilot.

that is being operated at night exceeding 25 nm of a lit
aerodrome.

Currency requirements for PPL and CPL

A

A holder of a private pilot licence is required to comply with the
requirements of rules 61.35 (Medical requirements),
61.37 (Recent flight
experience) and
61.39 (Biennial flight review) before exercising the
privileges of the holder’s private pilot licence.

CPL privileges (4)

A

any of the appropriate privileges of a private pilot license

act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft that is certificated for
single pilot operation and engaged on an operation for hire or
reward:

act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft that is certificated for
multi-pilot operation and engaged on an operation for hire or
reward, that is not an air transport operation

act as co-pilot of an aircraft that is certificated for multi-pilot
operation and engaged on an operation for hire or reward.
