what are the different types of families?

A
  1. beanpole families - multiple generations but few members in each gen
  2. Empty nest families - children move out and parents live alone
  3. nuclear family - mum, dad and biological children where dad is traditionally the breadwinner
  4. Extended families - living with extended family members and grand parents
  5. reconstituted families - when two adults, perhaps with children from previous relationships, form a new family
