Part 1 Flashcards

Q

Replacing the handle fuse in loaded conditions is atypical, but sometimes necessary, for
example in public distribution networks. What are the conditions for the work?

A

(SFS 6002:2015 7.4.1, c) page 101)

the skilled person performing the work has been specifically instructed to this work;
* when replacing a knife-fuse, a fuse handle having a protective sleeve as well as clothing having
protection against fire and heat and face shield meeting the requirements of Clause 4.6, shall be
used;
* the worker has to have a permission as permanent order for the work from the nominated person
in charge of the electrical work and a specific order for each work item from the nominated person
in control of the work activity.

Q

What additional national supplementary requirements are given to prevent energizing of
the work location?

A

(SFS 6002 6.2.3 Secure against re-connection -> National Supplementary Requirement)

Energizing of the work location shall be prevented by:
* removing the fuses, or
* opening the isolating device (disconnector, disconnecting switch, breaker or residual current
breaker) and by locking it’s operating mechanism or by locking the location where the isolating
device or the operating mechanism is located. Removing of locking shall only be possible with the
aid of the key or a tool, or
* in electric transmission and distribution networks operated by remote control system, unintended
switching operations can be prevented instead of physical locking by devices preventing remote
operation reliably.
* The isolating switch or the operating mechanism has always to be equipped with a proper
prohibiting sign forbidding re-connecting the supply during the work. An example of the prohibiting
sign has been given in Annex V. The prohibiting sign shall be fixed in a secure way to avoid
loosening during the work. It is recommended that is has been marked with the name of the person
who placed the sign and his telephone number or other contact information and finally the setting
date.
The procedures instructed in this Clause are not applicable for long time use in conjunction with
unaccomplished electrical installations or dis-assembling tasks at electric constructional work sites, where
electric contact protection remains insufficient. The electrical safety of an unaccomplished electrical
installation has to be secured by keeping it not connected to a live switchgear or network or to a switchgear
or network which can be connected live by operational procedures. Power supply to electrical installations
being dis-assembled shall be disconnected by removing the power supply from the supplying switchgear or
network. Alternatively reliable protection against direct contact, like use of enclosure or corresponding can
be applied.
