Political party
A group of people with the same ideas on how the general interest can be served best
One-issue parties
parties that focus on one aspect of society, such as the Animal Rights Party.
Protest parties
Parties that are set up out of dissatisfaction with current politics. They try to change the way politics are organized, e.g. D66.
Action groups
Action groups do not take part in elections and aim for more attention for a specific interest, e.g. Greenpeace.
Lobbyist groups
Lobbyist groups do not take part in elections and try to serve the general interest of a specific group, e.g. ANWB.
Floating voters
People that allow the choice of party to depend on the whim of the moment. For them the personality of the party leader is particularly important.
