- 120mg in 5 ml oral liquid

Analgesic and antipyretic
- thought to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in CNS

A
Metabolised by liver, excreted by kidneys

A
- Mild pain

What are the contraindications for paracetamol?
A
- hypersensitivity
- Children under 1 month
- paracetamol already administered in last 4 hours
- total paracetamol intake exceeding 4g (adults) or 60mg/kg (children) in past 24 hours
- Chest pain in suspected acute coronary syndrome

What are the precautions for paracetamol?
A
- impaired hepatic function or liver disease
- elderly or frail
- malnourished
