How are papers made?
- Fine cellulose fibres made from mainly wood are pressed together with water and then dried to make paper.
- Chemicals like brightening bleach are applied to the pulp to attain desired textures.
- Can also be coated with an agent that plugs the microscopic pits between the fibres resulting in a smooth, flat surface
What are paper and boards measured in?
- Paper and board are measured in grams per square metre (gsm).
- Paper typically weighs 80-220 gsm.
- Board typically weighs 220 gsm or more.
- Thicker paper indicates higher quality
What are some attributes of copier paper?
Thin, bright white paper with smooth, bleached and uncoated surface
What are some uses of copier paper?

- takes colour well
