Q

River width

A

One person stands on riverbank a second person walks across the river with the end of the tape measure tape measure is kept tight and above the river width is read out and written down by group member on the river bank

Q

Problems with the methodology of measuring the river width

A

Tape measure got caught in the channel making the river seem wider than it actually was
Straighten it out

Q

River depth

A

Well the tape measure was being held across the River by to group members at Third movement they will use a metre ruler to measure the depth across the river every 50 cm the death is read out loud and recorded by the group member on the riverbank

Q

river speed

A

One person holds the flow metre in the river channel with the propeller facing upstream it is held in the water for one minute and the digital reading read out to the person on then bank who recorded this this is completed at 3 locations across the channel at the edge in the middle and the other Edge

Q

Problems with finding the river speed

A

There were people upstream of each group doing the measurements which can affect the speed of the water it was difficult to hold the flow metre still the distance across the channel was not measured it was just a guess

Q

Bed load measurements

A

At every 100cm across the river to Iraq from the river bedload was picked up and passed to the person on the River by this person then measured the longest length of this rock and roll the measurement down to the nearest 0.5 metres

Q

Problems with finding the bedload size

A

Most people always went to pick the biggest rock which might have changed the results only one Rock was picked from each location

Q

The results of the river depth

A

The outside bend was 73cm
It was 1cm on the inside
It got more shallow at the sixth interval but increased (65 - 73)

16
Q

Why is it deeper on the inside bend

A

Mère erosion the river has the most energy there

This makes it deeper

17
Q

Is our depth hypothesis correct

A

Yes but we can do smaller intervals to make it more precise
Compare ✌ to rivers
Do not stap in the river deep

18
Q

Sediments anal

A

These largest sediments were found on the inside bend
16.5cm etc
The outside were 3cm etc

19
Q

Why were the sediments like this

A

River deposit on the slip off slopes

less energy so more deposition occurs with larger rocks

20
Q

Improvements on sediment analysis

A

Smaller intervals makes it more detail
Take an average of 3 rocks
Take a rock at random
