What does q5 assess?

- interesting, well organised, and accurately written piece
What is the task of q5 generally?
give your own perspective on a theme
similar to the one covered in the sources
What is the form and structure?
- you are given the audience, form, and purpose
- needs to be in the form of a non fiction text, such as a newspaper article
What is the question based on?
a polemic statement (a strong opinion that attacks something)
you wil then be asked to exp[lain your point of view
Why should ARRESTED techniques be used?
- alliteration
- emphasises points and provides the examiner with evidence that you are crafting ideas
- rhetorical question
- answer yourself - draws attention to the point and focuses the audience
- emotive language
- inspires an emotional and impactful response from the reader
WHat is satire
use of humour to attack injustice
e.g. have i got news for you
What should the layout of an article be?
- headline
- alliterative, short and snappy to gain extra marks
- hint at your point of view about the topic of the story but not give too much away
- strapline should summarise article in one or two setance

- introductory paragraph
