A published guide for priests and bishops to help them teach the laity. It is helpful because it helps catholics to gain wider knowledge of the church

- interpret the bible and modernise it
- continue apostolic tradition and keep alive hundred year old scriptures. It connects the modern day to the old

Mass could now be said in local languages rather than latin, so people can understand what is being said

They addressed that you don’t have to be a catholic to achieve salvation, any religion could. It also reminded people to go to mass

the church being one, holy, catholic and apostolic. They represent the church and their mission today
What does “one” mean in the 4MOTC and how is it shown
we are unified as one body and represent the church. We show this through going to mass and taking sacraments
What does “Holy” mean in the 4MOTC and how is it shown
That catholics have a special purpose in the church. It is shown through following Bible teachings as we are respecting God. It is important because we grow closer with God

global and universal, catholics are everywhere. This is shown through the church itself as God is present at all times
What does “Apostolic” mean in the 4MOTC and how is it shown
living out the tradition which has been passed down from apostles. It is shown through Pope saint peters morals being passed down through traditions and is important because it unites old and new scriptures

Why is Jesus good to follow for ethical decisions
He is a direct descendant of God meaning he is Holy. He displayed Love, Forgiveness and Justice seen through his moral stories
Why is Natural law good to follow fro ethical decisions
Natural law is about understanding the human purpose in life. If catholics realise these purposes and adhere to the purposes then they are being entirely ethical
What does Natural law state the purposes are
- Preserve human life
- Worship God
- Educate and seek truth
- Live in Society
Why is our conscience good for ethical decisions
Because conscience is seen as an innate voice from God meaning it is pure and holy . Our conscience is also often built by our upbringing and scriptures around us, which is usually positive, but in some cases it is a bad thing
