What Is a long term response?
Rebuilding homes (build back better). build back stronger and houses on stilts, move them on land or made out of strong materials.
What is biodiversity?
living things, plants and animals, it’s hot but also wet. Animals will adapt to the weather as the climate doesn’t change
What is a producer?
Something that uses sunlight to produce food (normally a plant)
What is a consumer?
eat something, normally something eats the plants or eats something that is alive
What is deforestation?
Trees are cut down.

Causes of deforestation?
cattle ranching (cows)

Logging (used for materials, paper, houses)
Mining (coal, diamonds, gold)
Dam (hydroelectric power)
population growth (start building houses)
Road (trans Amazionian highway, get products in and out)
What is a tropical rainforest management?
Plant more trees
What is selective logging?
Only cut the oldest trees, the older they are, they have loads of carbon dioxide in them
What is a managed retreat?
- allow certain land to flood on purpose
- Cheaper
What is a spit?
Made by longshore drift and when it meets the edge of the river it pushes outwards, mud flats curve behind it
what is hard engineering?
man made structures designed to stop the erosion,
- groynes
- sea wall
- rock armour
- gabians (rocks in a cage)
What is soft engineering?
uses nature (mostly sand or plant)
- beach nourishment
- beach re profiling
- sand dunes (regenerate them by planting more grass/ plants)
