20 minutes. You must leave enough time to answer this question as it is very important. It is worth 20 marks- a quarter of the whole paper.

This is the writing question. You will be given the choice of either a narrative or describe question or two describe questions or two narrative questions.
What techniques do I need to include in Question 5?
You need to use a range of language techniques like similes, metaphors and interesting adjectives.
You also need to use structural techniques to make it interesting e.g. repetition, start and end link, flashback.
You also need to use a range of punctuation e.g. semi-colons, colons, brackets and dashes.
How much time should I spend on Question 5?
45 minutes (including 5 minutes to plan and 5 minutes to check it through).
