cause:
alcohol

signs:
epigastric pain radiating to back
loss of exocrine function - steatorrhoea, cholesteraemia
loss of endocrine function - T2DM
history of acute pancreatitis

calcification can be seen on imaging

management:
abstinence from alcohol
analgesia
surgery
