Q

Pair spin combination general requirements

A

The pair spin combination must consist of at least one change of foot and one change of position (sit, camel, upright or any variation thereof) of both partners

The pair spin combination must have a minimum of two different basic positions with 2 revs in each position by both partners anywhere within the spin

To receive full value, a Spin combination must include all three basic positions by both partners. A pair spin will less than two revolutions in all executed basic positions receives no value.

A spin with less than 3 revs is considered as a skating movement and not a spin. The rotation must be continuous and no stop is permitted, except a short stop when changing direction.

  2. Difficult entrance or any flying entrance by one of both partners
  3. Difficult exit
  4. Both directions immediately following each other
  5. At least 6 revs without any changes in position/variation and foot

Q

Entrance for backward outside or inside edge

A

The skaters should skate both backward outside or both backward inside right before they begin rotating and enter the spin without assistance of free leg.

There are no three-turns or any other turns before skaters start actual spin

The entrance from backward outside/inside edge requires the first two revolutions to be done on backward outside or inside edge. Only such a backward entrance is considered a level feature

Q

Difficult exit

A

Exiting the lift in a spinning movement, an innovative move that makes the exit significantly more difficult.

The exit must have significant impact on the balance, control, and execution of the spin.

This feature can directly follow the Woman in a lifted position she does not need to be placed back down on the ice.

Q

Woman lifted during a pair spin

A

The Woman is allowed to be lifted from the ice during the spin and the man must be in one foot for two revolutions.

The revolutions executed while the Woman is being lifted count in the total number of revolutions

The basic position of the Woman while lifted counts as a basic position if held for 2 revolutions

Any difficult variation of the Woman while being lifted can be counted as a difficult feature
