Why does viscerogenic pain occur?
A
afferent inputs for visceral and somatic structures converge as they approach the CNS

Cutaneous vs Deep Somatic vs Visceral vs Neuropathic vs Referred

Cutaneous: localized, sharp
Deep Somatic: diffuse, dull
Visceral: not changed with movement autonomic symptoms
Neuropathic: burning, shooting
Referred: localized tenderness, hypertonicity
