What are the 4 types of drugs used to treat pulm hypertension
- Prestanoids
- Endothelin antagonists
- PDE 5 inhibitors
- Guanylate Cyclase Sensitizers

- Epoprostenol
- Treprostinil
- Iloprost
- Selexipag
What drugs are endothelin Antagonists?
- Bosentan
- Ambrisentan
- Macitentan
What drugs are PDE 5 inhibitors
- Sildenaphil
- Tadalafil
Guanylate Cyclades Sensitizer drug
Riociguat
What are prostanoids used for and what is the MOA (3)
To improve exersice capacity in PAH.
Direct vasodilation, inhibits platelet aggregation and suppresses smooth muscle growth
What is the risk of giving treprostinil through IV?
Risk of infection and sepsis
Common side effects of prostanoids
Extreme reduction in BP
Increased risk of bleeding
What is unique about treprostinil and Selexipag drug interactions.
Dose must be modified when given w CYP2C8 inhibitors or activators
Which prostanoid causes hypertension and syncope
Iloprost
What is the MOA of endothelin antagonists
Blocks ETa and ETb endothelin receptors
What organ should be checked while on Bosentan
Liver (has hapato and embryo toxicity)
What should women on birth control concidering when taking bosetan?
It decreases contraception effectiveness
What are the common adverse reactions of Bosentan
RTI, pyrexia, URTI and anemia
What drug can be administered with Tadalafil to lower PAH progression? And is selective ETa!!!
Ambrisentan
