Dependent Variable- The variable that is observed during an experiment, also called responding variable
Independent Variable- The variable that is changed during an experiment, also called manipulated variable

A property that depends on the type of matter in a sample, not the amount of matter
Extensive (Mass) Property
A property that depends on the amount of matter in a sample

A form of matter that takes the shape and volume of its container, a gas has no definite shape or volume
