Emollients (Cradle Cap)
Ingredients: Vegetable oil, coconut oil or baby oil
Indication: Cradle cap
Instructions: Apply emollient to the affected area(s) to soften the scales and then remove it with a soft brush
Egozite Cradle Cap Lotion
Ingredients: Salicylic acid, olive oil and castor oil
Indications: Severe cases of cradle cap where emollients alone not sufficient
Instructions: Ensure scalp is dry and apply to crust only TWICE daily for 3 to 5 days without washing hair. Then wash with a gentle shampoo. Repeat for all remaining crust until all cleared.
NOTE: avoid contact with eyes and non-crusted areas.
Sudocream
Ingredients: Zinc barrier cream
Indications: Nappy Rash
Instructions: Apply to the nappy region after each nappy change
Dermaid
Ingredients: hydrocortisone 1%
Indications: Nappy rash with inflammation causing discomfort (those > 2 years)
Instructions: Apply to the affected areas 1 to 2 times daily (SHORT TERM USE only)
Canestan
Ingredients: Clotrimazole 1%
Indications: Nappy rash with signs of candidate involvement (>2 years only)
Instructions: Apply to the affected areas BD to TDS. Continue treatment for 2 weeks after symptoms disappear to avoid recurrence.
Mycostatin
Ingredients: Nystatin
Indication: Nappy rash with candida involvement (> 2 years only)
Instructions: Apply to the affected areas BD to QID. Continue treatment for 2 weeks after symptoms disappear to avoid recurrence.
Children’s Panadol
Ingredients: Paracetamol 100 mg/mL (1M to 1 Yr), Paracetamol 24 mg/mL (1 Yr to 5 Yr), Paracetamol 48 mg/mL (5 Yr to 12 Yr)
Indication: Pain + Teething (> 1 month only)
Instructions 15 mg/kg QID PRN (maximum 4 doses in 24 hours)
Children’s Nurofen
Ingredients: Ibuprofen 100 mg/5 mL (3M to 5 Yr), Ibuprofen 200 mg/ 5 mL (5 Yr to 12 Yr)
Indication: Pain and fever (> 3 months only)
Instructions 5 to 10 mg/kg (maximum 400 mg) TDS to QID PRN
