What is becker’s muscular dystrophy?
Similar to Duchenne muscular dystrophy but much milder
What happens if DDH is not spotted?
the acetabulum becomes very shallow and a false acetabulum may form
When should a baby be able to walk?
14-17 months

What is tarsal coalition?
Fusion between two tarsal bones resulting in painful flat feet
What is Talipes Equinovarus?
Clubfoot
What is obstetric brachial plexus pasly?
Injury to the brachial plexus during delivery
When should a baby be able to sit alone and crawl?
6-9 months
What is transient synovitis?
Self limiting inflammation of the synovium usually occuring after an upper respiratory tract infection

What does DDH stand for?
Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip
What happens in Sliped upper femoral epiphysis?
the femoral head epiphysis slips inferiorly in relation to the femoral neck.
What is spina bifida?
Congenital disorder where two halves of the posterior vertebral arch fail to fuse
What is a SUFE?
Slipped Upper Femoral Epiphysis
Why might slipped upper femoral epiphysis pain be felt in the knee?
Thanks to the obturator nerve which supplies both the Hip and the knee.
When should a baby be able to jump?
2yrs old
What is the most common skeletal dysplasia?
achondroplasia
What is Perthe’s disease?
Femoral head transiently loses its blood supply resulting in necrosis and abnormal growth.
Usually in young boys.
