What is static electricity?
The charge on each object when you rub two insulators together
What happens when you rub two insulators together?
You transfer electrons from one to the other.
One object ends up with extra electrons and the over with not enough
Do positive charges move?
No positive charges do not move
What is discharging an object?
Removing its charge
How do you discharge an object?
You connect it to something that allows the charge to flow
What is a spark?
A flow of charge or a current through the air
What is an electric field?
A field around a charged object or particle that attracts or repels other charged particles in it even if they are not touching
What does it mean if the field lines are closer together in an electric field?
The field is stronger
