OZ 3 - Inorganic Chemistry and the Periodic Table Flashcards
1
Q
How is percentage concentration calculated?
A
percentage concentration = (solute volume) / (solution volume) x 100
2
Q
How is parts per million (ppm) calculated from concentration in mol dm-3?
A
1ppm = 0.001 g dm-3
So multiply the initial concentration by the molar mass of the solute, then divide this number by 0.001 to find the ppm of the solute in water
