15 White wine high 7 years under a veil of yeast dry. bottled in clavelins Nose has nutty hazelnut, pecan fennel notes. Acid for days, salinity, just different notes of flavors coming from every side.
1968 Boal, Madeira | D’Oliveira
24 this nose has notes of coffee, with floral and vanilla aromas as well. The palate is moderately concentrated, and features the same coffee profile, with some burnt sugar notes as well. Extremely powerful acidity that seems to dominate everything, but with a little bit of freshness that brings to mind baked green apples. Medium length finish.
1988 Terrantez, Madeira | D’Oliveira
16 Nougat, praline, citrus zest and nuts. Dry and racey on the palate, cutting through anything in its path. A bit of VA which is a bit on the high side but not enough to overly detract. Still a delicious and contemplative wine.
