Why does Darry work hard?
Darry works hard because he has to make sure Soda and Ponyboy gets on their best behavior or all three of them will get split up. They are somewhat resentful together.

They slipped in through the fence. THey did this because Dally hates to do things the legal way.
How do the girls respond to the insults?
The girls don’t let Dally get in to their minds.
Why does Dally use vulgar and abrasive language with the girls at the movies?
There were no other socs around to protect the two girls so Dally can use whatever language he wants in front of them because he loves trouble.
Why is Ponyboy uncomfortable about Dally’s behavior?
He doesn’t like embarrassing girls and he’s half-afraid of them.
Explain why the girls are okay with Johnny and Pony, and not Dally.
Johnny and Pony both were defending the two girls and weren’t bullying them. Dally is being rude and ignorant to the girls, so the girls don’t like Dally.
Why are the two girls alone without a car?
Their boyfriends left because they were drunk.
What does Two-Bit do that scares Johnny and Ponyboy? Relate why it is especially frightening to Johnny.
Two-Bit Grabs their shoulders and impersonated a mad soc. That was especially frighting to Johnny because a soc nearly killed him.
