The creation story happened in a literal sense, everything about it is true
What are non literalist views?
The main point of the stories is not HOW it happened, but that it happened.
> God created the world, he created the natural processes used to evolve the world.
> there were clear periods of creation

> to serve God and live for him
> to obey God
> to enjoy the world (it is a gift from God)
> to protect the world and act as stewards( conserve resources etc.)
> to live in harmony
> to “be fruitful”

> “he made you his ruling agents in the earth so that he might test you in the gift”

> “when you lay siege to a city… Do not destroy its streets”
