Others Flashcards
Hydralazine
⬆️cGMP
Vasodilator (A>V)
Afterload reduction
CLINICAL USE : severe HTN, HF, safe for pregnancy
To avoid tachycardia add beta blocker
Complications: tachycardia (contraindicated for angina and CAD), fluid retention, headache, angina, SLE-like syndrome
Nitrates
Tng , isosurbide nitrate
Vasodilator V>A (⬇️preload)
Clinical use : angina, ACS, P. Edema
Contra : Lt V infarction
Complications: to avoid reflex tachy (like hydralazine) add beta blocker, hypotension, flushing, headache,
Monday disease (tachy, dizziness, headache)
Ivabradine
Prolongs slow depolarization (phase iv) by selectively inhibiting funny sodium channel
Clinical use chronic stable angina in patients who cannot take beta blockers
Chronic HF
Adverse : luminous phenomena/visual brightness HTN bradycardia
