Hydralazine

Vasodilator (A>V)
Afterload reduction

CLINICAL USE : severe HTN, HF, safe for pregnancy
To avoid tachycardia add beta blocker

Complications: tachycardia (contraindicated for angina and CAD), fluid retention, headache, angina, SLE-like syndrome

A

Prolongs slow depolarization (phase iv) by selectively inhibiting funny sodium channel

Clinical use chronic stable angina in patients who cannot take beta blockers
Chronic HF

Adverse : luminous phenomena/visual brightness HTN bradycardia
