By pressing the “ID” key on the UFCP when the transponder is active.
How is a transponder failure indicated?
By an “X” on the left hand side of window 4 of the UFCP.

The transponder code (squawk) will be shown all the way over to the left, and the mode will be shown all the way over to the right.
