unpredictable error
error will not always be the same
what is a suspension?
a heterogeneous mixture
which part of the bunsen burner controls the type of flame produced?
collar
how do you identify a suspension?
heat to dryness and observe for a solid
suspension characteristics
Insoluble substances can settle to form solid deposits.
Light cannot pass through fully.
insoluble substances can be seen
magnetic metals
nickel
steel
iron
cobalt
which colour of light ray refracts out of the prism furthest away from the normal?
violet
do all cells contain nuclei?
NO
how are cells formed?
cell division (division of pre-existing cells)
what is the process called when plants lose water through stomata?
diffusion
precaution for measuring stuff/beaker
check for no parallax error
definition of solubility
Solubility is the MAXIMUM MASS of a solute that can dissolve in a FIXED VOLUME OF SOLVENT at a CERTAIN TEMPERATURE
smaller the size of the size of solute particles…
the faster the rate of dissolving
the smaller the size of the solute particles…
haha this doesn’t affect solubility (it does affect the rate of dissolving though
how does simple distillation work
As the solution in the boiling tube is heated, the water (distillate) in the solution boils to form a gas. As the gas is delivered to the condenser, it condenses to form pure water (or whatever distillate) as a distillate.
muscle tissue function
The muscle cells in the tissue contract or relax to bring about movement.
which colour ray travels the slowest?
violet
how do elements change across each period on the periodic table?
from metallic to non-metallic
what is the period number equal to?
number of occupied electron shells
how are the elements arrage on the periodic table?
in order of increasing proton number
which colour ray travels the fastest?
red
which colour ray bends the most?
violet
which colour ray bends the least?
red
