What is the Taxi Seperation Required for Jet sand Turboprop aircraft.
Jet:
Minimum - 23m
Under Breakaway power - 46m
Turboprop:
Min. 15m
Breakwaway power - 30m
Wake Turb Seperation:
Time
-Medium Following Heavy- (MH)-
-Medium Following Super- (MS)
MH - - - MS
2min , 3min Arrival
2min , 3min Displaced Landing Threshold
2min , 3min Opposite Direction
2min , 3min Departure - Full Length
3min , 4min Departure - Intermadiate (note)
Note1. Intermediate standards will be applied when the following aircraft will depart from the same runway, or a parallel runway separated by less than 760M from a point more than 150M after the take-off commencement point of the preceding aircraft.
Note 2. Distance standards cannot be used in lieu of time for intermediate departures.
What is the take off separation required on your aircraft?
- Crossed the upwind threshold
- Commenced a turn
- RWY longer than 1800m they must be airborne and at least 1800m ahead
- <7000kg flowed by <2000kg and slower , 600m ahead of the following aircraft
- both <2000kg airborne and 600m ahead of the point of lift off.
- preceding landing aircraft is vacated the Runway
- aircraft on another runway have crossed or stopped short of crossing runway.
ATC may give a clearance in anticipation that the prescribed separation will exist at the time that your take-off roll is commenced.
Cat D Approach Speeds

Vat 141-165
IAF 185-250
FAF 130-185
Circling 205
missed approach 265
Circling 5.28NM (400ft obst. clearance)
What is calssed as Medium weight?
MEDIUM (M) – Aircraft types of less than 136,000KG maximum take-off weight but more than 7,000KG maximum take-off weight
When must Wake turb sep. be Applied?
a. aircraft in the approach and departure phases of flight when both aircraft are using parallel runways separated by less than 760M; or
b. when an aircraft is operating directly behind another aircraft at the same level or less than 1,000 FT below.
Wake Turb Seperation:
Distance?
Medium Following Heavy 5nm
Meidum Following Super 7nm
Where the required separation can be determined by distance using an aircraft report or ATS Surveillance System, ATC need not apply the time standard to an affected: a. arriving aircraft b. departing aircraft, unless it is departing from an intermediate point as described in para 6.2.2.
Explain TAF3
Carry holding fuel for inter 30min or tempo 60min.
During the First 3 hrs of a TAF the following does not apply:
a. 30min buffers for FM and BECMG periods.
b. The ALTERNATE or HOLDING fuel required by:
1. Prob endorsed visibility , for reduction in visibility due to fog, mist, dust, smoke…..
or
2. for any PROB30 or PROB40 for TS or associated severe turbulence.
