Olfactory optic oculomotor Trochlear
What are the 4 CN in the pons ?
Trigeminal, abducens, facial, vestibulocochlear
What are the 4 CN in the medulla?
Glossophryngeal, vagus, hypoglossal, spinal accessory
Which CN are pure motor?
Pure Motor (CN III, IV, VI, XI, XII)
What CN are pure sensory?
Pure Sensory (CN I, II, VIII)
What CN are mixed Mtr n sensory.
Mixed (CN V, VII, IX, X)
In the spinal cord is motor nuclei located medially or laterally?
Motor medially! Sensory laterally

3 major branches:
• Ophthalmic division (V1) • Maxillary division (V2)
• Mandibular division (V3)
What are the sx of Bell’s palsy
Symptoms:
• Facial weakness (LMN type) – ranges from mild to severe • Dry eye (parasympathetic)
• Retroauricular pain (sensory)
• Hyperacusis(stapedius)
• Ipsilateral taste loss to anterior tongue (taste)
