Topical retinoid
acne
A brief sensation of warmth or stinging may occur right after applying the medication. Skin redness, dryness, itching, scaling, mild burning, or worsening of acne may occur during the first 2-4 weeks of using the medication. These effects usually decrease with continued use. If any of these effects lasts or gets worse, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

A
  • may cause skin to have increased sensitivity to light. Use sunscreen if needed.
  • apply small amounts to a few spots at first to make sure you’re not allergic
  • wash hands before and after use
  • do not apply to damaged skin
  • avoid contact with eyes and lips
