- Short ciliated tube connecting mouth and intestine and sweep small organic particles into pharynx.
- Some organisms secrete digestive enzymes and swallow the dissolved matter
- Some also have an extendable pharynx
How are the active prey subdued?
By either mucus, toxins or narcotics
How does the parapodia differ in active and inactive polychaetes?
The active polychaetes have a well developed parapodia, and those that live in burrows have a reduced parapodia
