- Mostly marine animals

• Regulate their internal osmotic environment and are independent of their environment
• Expand energy to control water uptake an loss

What is a hyperosmotic solution?

• A solution that has a higher solute concentration than another solution.

(E.g. Kids having too much sugar and going hyper)
