Males >40 of European decent, painless flexion of 4th, 5th digits. Reduces function of the hand. It curls up & they are unable to strengthen it on the Table Top test.
Due to thickening and contracture of palmar tendon.
Associated with alcoholics, TB, Peyronie’s disease, epilepsy

Muscle: ECRB and other extensors around it.
Tx: rest

What is Biceps tendonitis?

How do you test for it?

A

Inflammation of upper biceps tendon due to recurrent microtrauma, overuse, and repetitive overhead activities - baseball, tennis, swimming, weight-lifting.
Sx: anterior shoulder pain, bicipital groove tenderness.
Test: Yergason’s test (speed test) - flex elbow to 90º and examiner resists patient’s attempt to supinate and flex elbow.
Tx: rest, ice
