A

best to wait on micro results, DO NOT TREAT empirically unless the patient is systemically unwell

need surgery to remove infected tissue, drain and debride as no antibiotic will work on the necrotic centre

6 weeks antibiotics tailored to organism

A

aspirate joint and send fluid to micro (important to check for crystal to rule out crystal arthropathy)
blood cultures

might need to wash out the joint
