Others who could be put at risk by our work
Near miss
Unplanned or unexpected event that occurs as a result of police work, and under slightly different circumstances, could have resulted in harm to a person but did not.
Includes “loss only” incidents where same caused to police property but no person
Ham can be physical or mental
All incidents and near miss must be revoked by supervisor. Health and safety review is not criminal
When to notify work safe
Admitted to hospital (bed not outpatient treatment)
Serious head injury
Loss of consciousness
Certain near miss which had potential must also be reported
