Police bail of BOPO

The need to protect victims is the paramount consideration when deciding on bail for BOPO

If police member charged or convicted of FH offence
Report immediately by supervisor to district employee practice manager and PPC who will advise DC. Code of conduct procedures will apply
Welfare and EAP offered to victim - and alleged offender if appropriate
PPC and manager to consider continuing to work
PO on employee
Server to give copy to DC
Employee must report it in writing immediately to supervisor to inform HR and PPC
Not reporting considered an aggravating factor in conduct investigation
Applicant encouraged to report it to welfare and or sup for support
PSO and exceptions

Ensure deleted from police file as any court doc not owned by police must not be retained in order to comply with privacy act
Service of PO is priority as is informing victim after service
