What are the levels of command
Level 1 - Initial.
Level 2 - Intermediate.
Level 3 - Advanced.
Level 4 - Strategic.
Describe Level 4 command
Associated with commanding within SCG(Strategic Co-Ordinating Group).
Multi agency use 3 levels of command. Operational, tactical and strategic.
Some use B/S/Gold.
Relates to role not rank.
Doesn’t show seniority but function in the group.
Must be flexible.
Military use operational and tactical other way round.
What are responsibilities of level 2/3 commander
On arrival consider taking over or not.
Disciplined/Formal exchange.
Face 2 face.
Rationale for taking over.
New commander have sufficient SitAw.
Confirm amend plan based on priorities,objectives, tactical mode and risk assessment.
Safe system of work in place.
Adequate resources deployed to match tactical priorities.
Review comms.
Command structure appropriate.
Inform all of change.
Adequate span of control.
What is Tac Advisor role
IC retains overall responsibility for tactics, deployment and safety.
Don’t take command.
Need to understand aims and objectives.
Where deployed by more than 1 BLS ensure effective comms between the 2.
Have common understanding of risk, hazards and tactics.
