Only works on incidents that are familiar and routine.
Won’t work on new or novel incidents
Explain analytical decision making
More reflective process, more mental effort.
Draw on knowledge, memories & experience.
May be rule based approach SOPS.
Compare possible options.
Come up with completely new solution.
Applies to everyone. Ba to IC.
Beware of decision traps.
To resolve an incident the incident commander should do what.
Understand they’re starting position.
Know their desired end position.
Develop a plan that gets from one position to the other.
