Order Graphs Flashcards
zero order (concentration-time)
Concentration decreases at a constant rate, half-life decreases with time.
first order (concentration-time)
Concentration halves in equal time intervals, half-life is constant.
second order (concentration-time)
Concentration decreases rapidly, but the rate of decrease then slows down, half-life increases with time.
zero order (rate-concentration)
The rate is unaffected by changes in concentration.
first order (rate-concentration)
The rate is proportional to changes in concentration. If the concentration doubles, so does the rate.
second order (rate-concentration)
The rate is proportional to the square of changes in concentration. If the concentration doubles, the rate increases by four times.
