Oral Exam : Operation of Systems Flashcards
Describe the landing gear system on this airplane
Tricycle type system with 2 main wheels and a steerable nose wheel. Tubular spring steel main gear struts provide main gear shock absorption. the one gear chock absorption is provided by a combination air/oil shock strut.
Describe the braking system on this aircraft.
Hydraulic disc brakes on each main wheel are engaged by pressing on the top of the rudder pedals.
What type of hydraulic fluid does your aircraft use?
The hydraulic fluid is red and the most common is MIL-H-5606
How is steering accomplished on the ground?
Steering is accomplished by pressing on the rudder pedals in order to maneuver the nose wheel to the left or the right. They are connected with a push-pull rod. For tighter turns, use the upper portion of the rudder pedal to activate the brakes too.
What type of engine does your aircraft have?
A Lycoming Horizontally opposed, four-cylinder engine, overhead valve, air-cooled, carbureted engine. produces BLANK hp…
What four strokes must occur in each cylinder of a typical four stroke engine for it to produce power?
(Suck - Squeeze - Bang - Blow)
