Oral Cavity Flashcards
Arterial Supply of the Oral Cavity’s Palate
Greater palatine (maxillary), ascending palatine branch (facial) and palatine branch (ascending pharyngeal).
Venous drainage of the Oral Cavity’s Palate
Follow the arteries. Drain into pterygoid plexus, pharyngeal plexus or the facial vein.
Nerve innervation of the Oral Cavity’s Palate
Greater/lesser palatine and nasopalatine.
Lymphatic drainage of the Oral Cavity’s Palate
Parotid and submandibular glands.
Arterial Supply of the Oral Cavity’s Teeth and gingivae
Inferior alveolar (maxillary) supplies lower teeth. Anterior/posterior superior alveolar (maxillary) supplies upper teeth.
Venous drainage of the Oral Cavity’s Teeth and gingivae
Follow arteries.
Nerve innervation of the Oral Cavity’s Teeth and gingivae
Inferior alveolar nerve and anterior/posterior superior alveolar nerve.
Lymphatic drainage of the Oral Cavity’s Teeth and gingivae
Submandibular, submental and deep cervical nodes.
Arterial Supply of the Oral Cavity’s Tongue
Lingual.
Venous drainage of the Oral Cavity’s Tongue
Deep lingual and dorsal lingual.
Nerve innervation of the Oral Cavity’s Tongue
Hypoglossal (all muscles except palatoglossus) and vagus (palatoglossus). Lingual and glossopharyngeal (sensory).
Lymphatic drainage of the Oral Cavity’s Tongue
Deep cervical nodes (Pharyngeal part). Submental and submandibular nodes (Oral part).
