Explain the movements for the indirect fundoscopy
Initially, hold the lens to one side of the eye until
the tapetal reflex is
seen; then rotate the
lens such that the eye can be observed through it.
The lens is initially close to the cornea (about 1/2 inch away) & then it is moved toward you slowly until you see the fundic image filling the lens. You will likely now be about 1–2 inches away from the animal’s eye.
What is used for the direct fundoscopy?
Opthalmascope
What is used for the indirect fundoscopy?
Condensing lens and light source
